Furrower

A furrower is a farm tool or a tractor attachment used to dig long, narrow trenches—called furrows—into the soil.

• Soil preparation: It cuts straight, evenly spaced lines in the dirt so farmers can plant seeds or bulbs like potatoes and corn in neat rows.
• Water management: The resulting trenches help direct irrigation water straight to plant roots while keeping the main stems dry to prevent rot.
• Drainage: It improves excess water runoff during heavy rains to stop the ground from becoming waterlogged.
