A portable rice thresher is a motorized agricultural machine designed to efficiently separate rice grains from the stalks (panicles) immediately after harvest. By mechanizing the threshing process, these compact units eliminate the labor-intensive method of hand-beating crop stalks, significantly increasing yield recovery and minimizing grain damage for small to medium-scale farming operations.

Power Source: Typically driven by a small 5 to 7 HP gasoline engine, a compact diesel motor, or occasionally an electric motor (1.5 to 3 kW), allowing for easy deployment directly in the field without relying on grid power.

Threshing Mechanism: Utilizes a high-speed rotating drum (cylinder) fitted with metal wire loops, teeth, or rasp bars. As the operator feeds the harvested rice stalks into the machine, the spinning drum strips and detaches the grains from the panicles through impact and friction.

Separation System: Features an integrated vibrating screen (sieve) and a blower/fan assembly. The fan generates a targeted airstream that winnows the lighter chaff, dust, and empty spikelets away from the heavier, clean rice grains, which drop down a discharge chute for collection.

Portability & Frame: Built on a lightweight, welded steel framework, often equipped with carrying handles or small transport wheels. Weighing generally between 40kg and 80kg, the machine can be manually carried by two people across narrow field bunds or uneven agricultural terrain.
